FAQs

How long till I receive my Custom Portrait?

Turn around time is approximately 4 - 6 weeks from when your Custom Portrait order is received. If you require your artwork by a particular date please send through an email and I will let you know if it is possible.

Do you offer Pet Portraits?

Yes - I love working on all creatures - small, large, furry or feathered! I love to do Pet Portraits of your dear Dogs, Cats, Horses and birds.

Do you offer portraits with 2 or more people?

Yes - multiple portraits have just been launched! Please see our  Custom Portrait Multiple Subject product.

What is the difference between the Classic and Patterned Custom Portrait?

Essentially they are the same product. ‘Classic’ or ‘Patterned’ refers to the treatment of the subjects clothing. The Patterned Custom Portrait replaces clothing with different patterns and colours. You can provide as much or as little direction with these as you like! If you are unsure, feel free to order either product and we can talk through what will  work best once I receive your photo. The Classic Custom Portrait recreates the clothing worn in your selected photo.

Can you do custom sizes?

Yes - Please email me if you are after a specific size.

Does the photo submitted need to be of a certain quality?

I can work from most images - it just needs to be a photo you love! Photos that are clear, in focus and of a high resolution work best but photos from an old album are also usable. If you have any doubts please feel free to email photos through to me and I can advise.

Does the final portrait need to be a headshot?

No. Whilst my style works best with the final piece capturing only the face and upper body, a full body piece can be really special - especially if the subject is holding balloons, jumping in the air or in a special outfit etc. Please have a look at a select few examples in my Gallery.

Do you work from old photos?

Yes - I love to create artworks from older photos. Whether it is a worn image of a grandparent from the 1940’s or a baby photo from the 80’s. If you are unsure feel free to email it through to me and I can advise.

What patterns do you use and can I choose?

You can provide as much or as little direction as you like such as particular colours, pattern subject or reference to something you have seen that you like. I like to use a wide range of different styles. I find abstract patterns work well so as not to distract from the main focus of the subjects face. These can be as simple as watercolour washes with dots and dashes etc. I also love really bold, bright patterns which can really add some wow and make your piece a feature! Other options are beautiful florals, stars, constellations, animals, plants, pastels, abstract shapes, stripes etc.

What if I’m not happy with my completed artwork or would like to change something?

I want everyone to be completely in love with their finished portrait. I am more than happy to make amendments until you have a piece that you can treasure forever.

Can I make copies?

Yes. Every completed Custom Portrait also comes with the high resolution digital artwork file that you are free to print and share with family and friends.

Can you create additional prints for me?

Yes. Your Custom Portrait order includes the highest quality giclee print using archival pigment inks on museum grade fine art paper. If you would like additional giclee copies of your artwork I can add this on.

Can I see a proof before it is printed and sent?

I prefer not to send digital proofs as I am a big fan of the first viewing being the moment when you open the actual artwork and get to hold the finished piece in your hands - this can be so different to what you experience when viewing it on screen. However, I am more than happy to send through a digital proof for those that prefer to view it this way. Please let me know in the notes when your order is placed.

What frames do you recommend?

Your local framer is the best option to care for your archival print plus you can then personalise the frame to your taste. For off the shelf options, I love the Adler frame range from Country Road. These are available in sizes as large as A1. Their 2 window Adler frame also fits the A4+ artwork perfectly once the matt is removed.

I’ve seen invitations on your Instagram - do you create these?

Yes! These have now been added as add on in our products
